Georgia

In 2009, Beciuri Ltd. started to engage in promotion and distribution of EM Technology™ and EM™ products in Georgia.  While they spent a lot of demonstration experiments on farms in 13 regions of Georgia in various areas of agriculture such as poultry farming, fish farming, and maize farming, they introduced the farmers with the basic of EM Technology™.
In 2011 at the suggestion of the Rector of Georgian Technical University, based on it, Beciuri have established the Center of Effective Microorganisms (director Mr. Sergo Uchava). The main objectives of the center are: to introduce students of the University with EM Technology™, organization of seminars and conferences for farmers from different regions of Georgia, and promoting of EM technology and organic farming methods.

Maize farming

georgia01 georgia02Application of the EM Technology™ was tested in two regions (Kakheti, Samegrelo) with different climatic and soil conditions. In Kakheti (Kvareli District) climate is dry, pH of soil is equal 6.2. Here, next to the main field on the several parcels of land (up to 2000 sq. m.) the local variety of corn (kvarlis kviteli) was sowing. Three hours before sowing the seeds were treated with an aqueous solution of Activated EM•1® (1:400 ratio). After drying, they were sprinkled with EM ceramics powder.
Three times during the vegetative period, including the day of sowing, the plants were sprayed with Activated EM•1®. The best yield was obtained on the parcel, where every time the plants were sprayed with the aqueous solution of Activated EM•1® (ratio of 1:900) per hectare and once in the autumn the experimental parcel of land was treated with 8 liters of Activated EM•1® (plus 400-500 liters of water) per hectare. It should be noted, that there were not used any chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Grain yield was 8.5 tons per hectare. This is 35% more, than the crop, which was grown by the traditional technology in the main field. As to Samegrelo (Abasha District), the climate there is subtropical humid and the soil with pH=5. The experiment was similar to the one, described above. The local variety of corn (abashis kviteli) was sowing. Here, the yield was 11.4 tons per hectare, which is 40% more, than the yield from the main field. Once in the autumn the experimental parcel of land was treated with 6 liters of Activated EM•1® (plus 200-250 liters of water) per hectare. Three times during the vegetative period, including the day of sowing, the plants were sprayed with the aqueous solution of Activated EM•1® (ratio of 1:1000) per hectare.

Viticulture-grape farming

georgia03 georgia04In 2010, at the request of the owner of wine factory "Chelti" (Kakheti region, Kvareli district, village Schilda) was started the use of EM Technology™ in the area of the vineyard with the weakest plants (about 2500 sq.m.). Throughout the season, until harvesting, every 2 weeks the plants were sprayed with EM™ solution at a concentration of 1:1000. In addition, 2 times the plants were treated with a solution of EM™, in which the EM ceramics powder was added. In parallel, the number of pesti-cide treatments was reduced by 2 times. And bet-ween the use of EM™ and pesticides was a gap in one week. In the autumn in this section the external appearance of plants was not only significantly improved (the leaves were larger and darker color), but also, the yield was almost similar to the main field one. It is interesting, that the number of worms in the soil has increased.

Egg-laying hens farming

georgia05Also in 2010, with the permission of the owners of poultry farm in the village Patardzeuli (Kakheti region, Sagarejo district) experiment was conducted in a separate building for 4,000 hens, using EM™. It was begun from the day of chicks hatching and continued for 6 months. From the first to seventh day in drinking water was added the Activated EM•1® in a ratio of 1:2000. With the growth of layers Activated EM•1® was added to the water 2 times a week, and the concentration increased up to 1:800. Also, during the whole period, in the food was added bokashi (5% of the daily amount of feed-in the first 2 weeks, and then percent of bokashi has been reduced to 1%). Bokashi we prepared beforehand, counting on a week. For every 10 liters of wheat bran (about 3 kg.), we added 50 ml. of Activated EM•1®, 60 ml. of cane molasses (previously dissolved in hot water and boiled), 15 g. of powdered zeolite, 5 g. of EM ceramic powder and water (achieving a 30% moisture). All this we filled in multiwall paper bags, rammed and closed, then placed in plastic bags and closed (creating anaerobic conditions). The fermentation process takes 2-3 weeks in a warm room. The undoubted the use of EM™ positive was the fact that: the mortality rate has decreased from 1% to 0.025%, there were no cases of dysbacteriosis, application of antibiotics has been reduced, the appearance of chickens with shining feathers were much better, than in the other rooms, a much larger percentage of eggs was the highest quality.

Fish (trout) farming

georgia06 georgia07With the interesting results the experiment has ended at one of the fish farms in the Kartli region (district of Kareli, village Bebnisi). The farm owner, Mr. Suliko Metreveli has provided us with two of the same basins, in which were placed an equal number of three-day trout fries with the same total weight (200 in each pool). In the experimental basin the EM Technology™ was used, and in the control-the usual one. 24 hours a day in the pool, using a dropper, during the whole experimental period Activated EM•1® was added. At the bottom of the pool were placed two balls made, using powdered EM ceramics, white zeolite powder and Activated EM•1® (with the time balls have lost their shape). Water flowed into the pool, passing through made by us a garland, using of EM ceramic pipes. Before each feeding, forage was sprayed with Activated EM•1®. 2 times a week hall was treated with a solution of Activated EM•1® (1:1000). The experiment ended after five months, when the fish reached commercial weight (200-220 g). It should be noted, that the fish in the test pool has reached the same weight only at the end of the sixth month. In addition, none of the fish has not perished (in the test died 2). The bottom and walls of the experimental basin were much cleaner. Fish odor in the room almost was not.
