EM™ promotion in Brazil had been taken place by Sekai Kyusei Kyo. However, in 2006 EMRO took over the activity and then currently, alumni of EARTH University are continually promoting EM Technology™. "Ambiem", which is organized by the alumni, is now the EM™ manufacturer in Brazil, and they are operating EM™ promotion based in Salvador, Bahia. EM Technology™ is applied mainly in hydroponic culture and animal husbandry. Also, it happens that Brazilian farmers own huge farmland due to a vast national land; therefore, a big project on soybean cultivation is started.
Hydroponic Culture
Before using EM Technology™, the crops suffered from the growth of molds and bacteria even it was treated by antibacterial agents. Also, once the bacteria grow in a container, it spread out all crops in the same container due to the nature of hydroponic culture. By adding 1/2000 Activated EM・1® to the container of crops, the disease caused by molds and bacteria was solved. The growth inhabitation of lettuce and the diseases of tomato were efficiently managed in order to be treated with activated EM・1®.
Drinking Water Contamination
State of Bahia is now facing a problem of drinking water contamination; therefore, the state pours large amounts of money into the issue of the polluted water purification. To solve this problem, EM seminar was held to learn the EM Technology™ and the practical cases at the request of the state government, and the state government decided to start the EM™ project on a trial basis.
