On August 8, 2025, the Okinawa local group Otori-kai partnered with the Genki Ala Wai Project, an initiative dedicated to restoring the ecosystem of the Ala Wai Canal in Hawaii, to host the World EM Mudball Day – World Festival 2025.

Organizations involved in water purification efforts both in Japan and around the world shared messages and updates on their activities through videos and live broadcasts.
